AOM's mission is to establish churches in Africa by the power of God and for his glory
The Team
THE HARRIS FAMILY: SCOTT, LISA, GABRIEL, MARIAH, AND JAYDEN
The Harris family moved to South Africa in January 2004 when they joined AOM. Then four years later followed God's call into Mozambique. They moved their family to the city of Inhambane where they are currently leading the team targeting the unreached Tonga of Inhambane Province. In November of 2009, Scott was installed as the President of AOM.
Scott's mission experiences before AOM include a 2-year internship through the Master's Apprentice Program (MAP) in Lyon, France where he learned French. Scott has a Bachelors of Arts in Bible and a Bachelors of Arts in French from Harding University. He also has graduate hours in missions from Harding and Abilene Christian University. Scott completed a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix in 2003.
Soon after Scott and Lisa were married in 1990, they joined a team of other students from Harding University to begin church planting among the Watchi people in southern Togo in West Africa. Scott and Lisa spent 2.5 years planting churches among the Watchi.
Lisa holds a Bachelors of Arts in Bible as well as a Bachelors of Science in Consumer and Home Sciences. Lisa is an award-winning author and has sold over 20 books to the Christian market. To learn more about her books you can visit Lisa's Website. She also homeschools their two youngest children. Their oldest son is a student at Rift Valley Academy in Kenya. Scott and Lisa have a heart for raising up men and women and training them to further the kingdom of God, specifically among the people of Mozambique. They also have started a non-profit organization called The ECHO Project to meet the physical needs of the people they work with.

THE LE ROUX FAMILY: JACO, INGE, ERNAN, LANDER, AND REINER
The Le Roux family has felt God's calling on their lives for a number of years. In their home church in South Africa, they served as life group leaders, but the burden for the lost was not totally satisfied. They began a discipling group with their farm workers with the aim to equip committed disciples and send them out. God continued to work on their hearts, specifically leading them to join the work in Mozambique alongside the Harris family.
Jaco has worked in agriculture for the past twelve years as an industry development manager and accreditations manager for an international fruit producing company. Inge is an artist who has held several art exhibitions in South Africa, been an organic gardener, and mom to three busy boys who she will be homeschooling in Mozambique. They both hold a diploma of Biblical Studies from International School of Ministries. Their vision is to teach and equip people to become disciples for Jesus Christ and to equip these disciples with skills to earn a living in order to support their families.

MANDY HUNTER
Since she was a young girl, Mandy had her heart set on becoming a nurse. In 1981 her dream became a reality when she qualified as a nurse and later in 1983 as a midwife. After a few years she obtained a Diploma in Tropical Medicine from the London School of Tropical Medicine and a Clinical Teaching qualification. In 1996, she became a part-time volunteer worker with Christian Partners in Africa using her nursing and midwifery skills to set up training and bush clinics in Ethiopia, Malawi, and Mozambique. In 2002, Mandy decided to begin working full time to Africa and went to All Nations Christian College where she obtained a Diploma in Biblical and Intercultural Studies.
Mandy has a passion to help the weak and vulnerable, the poor and downtrodden and to show Gods love, which can restore their dignity and value as God's children. Her vision is to reach out to those who society overlooks or discards, to seek to love at all costs, not only in word, but in deed and action, by spreading the Gospel through discipleship and bible study and alleviating suffering through health training and community care in the bush.

MEL WELCH
"I am someone who has personally known the amazing grace and power of God, which was able to lift me up out of the lowest place. The story of the "prodigal son" (Luke 15:11-30) resonates deeply with my story and has shown me that there is no one who falls beyond the reach of the all-embracing arms of God's gracious and saving purpose. I have a deep passion for communicating the simple truths of the Gospel in both word and deed and a compassion for those who have lost their way through sin, wrong choices, unfortunate circumstances and neglect, as well as for those who are suffering the effects of abject poverty, that they might know the all-embracing love and grace of God in Jesus Christ, who brings healing and hope. I wish to see God's word taught with understanding and revelation in the rural communities of Mozambique, and Gods people praying and serving their communities in the love of Christ that people might come to know Him and His gift of forgiveness and eternal life."

CUNA FAMILY: DAVID, EMILY, ROSIE, AND SCOTT
"In 2004, David began working for the Harris family in South Africa. At the time, David had no interest in learning more about God, but Lisa believed in her spirit that one day, David would become an evangelist for his own people. A year and a half later, David and his wife Emily gave their lives to the Lord. When the Harris' prepared to move to Mozambique-where David is from-they too decided to follow Gods call and agreed to come with them. In the past four years, their faith has grown tremendously.
David has been Scott's main disciple and translator over the past few years. He now works full time in the ministry as an apprentice, teaching, translating, and growing as an evangelist. Emily helps lead the woman's Bible study and home schools their oldest daughter, Rosie, who is eight and doesn't speak. Emily has embraced the role of teacher and works with Rosie through sign language. David's niece, Anatérsia has recently joined their family after her mother passed away."
